It’s important to give students a chance to interact outside of the classroom and extracurricular activities and organizations are a great way to do that. Windham Technical High School has a wide-range of options including everything from student council and National Honor Society to SkillsUSA.

The National Honor Society is an organization promoting recognition for students with outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service.
John D. Clark Chapter
Membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. The NHS has worked hard to bring the accomplishments of exceptional students to parents, teachers, peers and the community. Chapters in more than 12,500 high schools across the nation strive to give practical meaning to the Society’s goals of scholarship, leadership, service and character. These four ideals form the basis for selection to the NHS. No student is inducted simply because of a high academic average. The Society strives to recognize the total student: One who excels in all of these areas.

SkillsUSA is a national organization serving nearly 250,000 high schools, college students and professional members who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled and service occupations. Through SkillsUSA, students can gain self-esteem, pride in their work, leadership and professional development skills to help them make a smooth transition from school to the workplace.
The Student Council is the organization through which the administration, faculty, staff and most importantly the student body cooperates in addressing the concerns and activities of the school. It is comprised of one shop representative from each grade. The reps meet once a month to discuss the affairs of the student body. The Student Council Executive Board governs and manages all student activities.
The Executive Board must approve each student activity program. All requests for fundraising, student activities and purchases made from the Student Activity Fund must be approved.
